We love our Cartell driveway alarm system! I'll tell you why.
STEALING A SHELTIE?
It all started on a morning in early spring. We had let our two dogs out early in the morning and gone back to bed. I was awakened by a voice in the front yard saying, "Come here, Puppy!" A stranger was in the yard trying to coax our Sheltie to him. It became apparent to me that he was trying to steal her. I ran out and scared him off.
PROFESSIONALS CALLED IN
That afternoon my husband called our security system installer and asked what we could do to prevent this from happening again. He recommended that we install the Cartell driveway system, thereby alerting us when someone was entering our property by car. We set up an appointment to have it installed. That is when the true story begins.
THAT'S NOT FUNNY
On the day the system was installed, the men finished around 8:00 in the evening. Our security expert explained to us that it was quite sensitive and teased it would sound even if a deer with buckshot went across it. We all got a good laugh out of this.
FALSE ALARMS ALREADY?
Around 2:00 that night, the system went off, lights and all. Both my husband and I thought, "Oh, must be a deer. This is going to be a nuisance as we have so many!" It soon became apparent to us that this was not a deer, but in fact a car was parked at the bottom of our driveway. Eventually the car left and all became quiet.
AN EVENTFUL NIGHT
The next morning, when my husband left for work, he discovered that the driveway was littered with boxes. He realized that they contained designer samples that belonged to a neighbor. He called her and said he would return them on his way to work. When he arrived at her house, she seemed perplexed, because she said that the boxes had been in the trunk of her car. At that moment, she realized her car was missing.
THE REST OF THE STORY
To make a long story short, we soon found out that about 14 homes in our neighborhood had been vandalized that night, and our neighbor's car stolen. When we put the pieces of the puzzle together with the police, we figured out that the car at the bottom of our driveway must have been hers.
The burglars had emptied her car trunk in order to use it to store the band equipment that they had stolen from another neighbor's garage. It was at that moment, in the wee hours of the morning, that the Cartell system went into action at our house and the burglars took off.
CARTELL PAID FOR ITSELF IN ITS FIRST SIX HOURS!
So you see, our house was fully protected as a result of installing the Cartell system in the driveway! We figure it paid for itself within about 6 hours of its being installed. Now you know why we think everyone should have one!
